What is CreateAthon?

CreateAthon@VCU is a volunteer program that gives students the opportunity to use their creative talents to help fulfill the marketing needs of nonprofits in the Richmond community.

 

Teams of VCU students and professionals from the community acting as mentors work with local non-profits to gain perspective on their marketing problems and provide lasting communication solutions to improve the organizations’ impact.

Student Volunteers
Team Volunteers are undergraduate students who provide the minds and hands that spend 24 hours creating and producing communication material for our local non-profits. Volunteers are writers, art directors, designers, photographers, videographers, audio/video producers and more.

Mentors
CreateAthon@VCU’s success comes not only from the creative minds of its student volunteers, but also from the mentors that help guide them. Advertising and marketing professionals are at the event to mentor the teams. This gives students insight and experience from someone already in the industry.
